Today a CNN crawler reported that one Israeli soldier was exchanged for 1027 Palestinian prisoners.
As expected the mainstream media has once again mischaracterized the nature of the individuals involved in the exchange of Gilad Schalit for 1027 convicted terrorists many of whom are murderers. CNN could have simply said that one Israeli was released by Hamas while 1027 Palestinians were set free by Israel. But it didn’t; instead it described the Israeli as a soldier, while referring to the Palestinians as prisoners. However if CNN felt obliged to refer to Gilad as a soldier then it should have referred to the Palestinians, as what they were, terrorists and murderers. At the very least CNN should have used the term ‘militants’ but chose to use the term ‘prisoners’ as if they were jailed for shoplifting or running a red light.
By consistently covering the true nature of the crimes of those 1027 Palestinian terrorists, behind a veil of euphemisms, CNN once again bows at the altar of political correctness thereby protecting the guilty and exposing the innocent to more acts of terror in the future.
