On March 16, 2010 a request was made to The Hon. Arne Duncan, Secretary of the U.S. Department of Education to protect the rights of Jewish students under Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. The request was made because of harassment on some college campuses of Jewish students by anti-Israel activists. The signatories to the letter were:
